The Art of Technologese
You can hear what they are saying, but it just doesn't make any sense. You zone out. Cookies. Rambo. The Yankees. "Does that sound good", says your IT technician as you snap back into the conversation. "Sure!", you say reluctantly. Your tech is a master in the ancient art of Technologese.
"Turns out, we need to parse the haptic EXE circuit, and back up the optical SSL program. That should likely generate the SQL capacitor." While you're likely in the presence of a genius, it doesn't change the fact that you have no idea what they're talking about. Like any language barrier, communicating technical information can be extremely intimidating and frustrating, even for seasoned users.
Computerware values your customer experience so greatly, that we keep our technologese masters in the office, and send normal human beings to serve you in plain Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC English (we do have optional packages that include Bostonian, Southern, Bronx, Ozark, Californian, and Texas Drawl accents at no additional charge). We work hard to meet you where you are to explain things so you can make informed decisions that to contribute to your business. You shouldn't have to go to tech school to figure out what IT guys are saying, let Computerware translate for you.
Sometimes it takes a lot of effort to simplify. Not every IT company on the market is willing to take the time to explain their processes to their clients. Typically, IT vendors will expect their clients to know exactly what an issue is before they call to ask for assistance. This process can take lots of time if you can't keep up with the servicer's technologese skills. Many IT vendors even outsource their customer service to foreign countries, making the already existent communication barrier worse. They may be as knowledgeable as a sagely old wizard, but lack the customer service skills that make communication with the technician as pleasant as having a conversation with an orc: Not very fun.
At Computerware, we are dedicated to making all of our services easy to understand in purpose and functionality for our clients, even if it means more work for us to translate what our technologese gurus are saying into English. We even provide IT vendor management service to clients. This way, you won't have to contact vendors, we'll do it for you. For example, if a piece of equipment breaks in your office that we don't already cover, such as your phone system, we will call the vendor and put them on the line with our in-house technologese masters to sort the issue out, and get you back up and running in no time. This way, you save time dealing with the issue, and we'll translate what the issue was back to you. It's a win-win!
